Aint No Holiday

Okay, being early at work is good – but not if you spend just about ALL your time on blogging! I shall have to buckle up…anyways, herewith my (exciting) rendition of the time with The Boys last week. Don’t have too much fun now… *winks*

We went ice skating. It was loads of fun. I was left all on my lonesome (they deserted me the moment we hit the ice). I got some funny looks from some other Teenagers. The girls particularly. Strange what hormones does, neh?

TA asked me to skate either 100m behind him or ahead of. I asked why. He said he didn’t want any of the potentials thinking he’s got a girlfriend. WTF?!?!

I was crushed. Even B2 asked me not to cling. Wasn’t good for his image. Really?! Ungrateful blerrie…. Tell me, why did I bother? It didn’t help that I was practically the only adult on the ice either.

And I’m very proud of myself – this time I didn’t go “WHAT GIRLFRIEND!!! I SAID NO GF’s UNTIL YOU’RE 30!!!” I just pretended ignorance.

We watched some movies. Ice Age in 3D. Diego is one sexy cat, hey? Just love his voice. I forget the name of the actor who does the voice. He’s not too hot though. But I digress. This is not about me….

Moi kept on ducking everytime a flying missile “came” my way. The boys thought it hilarious. Even the kid next to me was looking at me strangely every time I ducked. He was about 6. And way too talkative. Next time I’m shutting him up. We have to focus on the movie, for goodness sakes!!!

And why do we pay such an atrocious amount for 3D movies? Is the R24 for the glasses? And why should I recycle? If I keep them, I can see any animated movie in 3D, right?

And Twilight. I thought Edward was hot as the vampire. But him and that girl seemed too … “pained”. Like they had acute constipation. The movie irritated the living crap out of me but I watched just to see if they would do it. They didn’t. I was pissed off. Waste of precious time and money if you ask me. The Boys didn’t think so. And boy, did they like HER.

We played games. With balls. Cricket, soccer, tennis, dodge ball. I don’t know if I’m slow, the balls always seemed to be “attacking” me. I’ve still got the bruises to show. The boys of course thought it hilarious every time they hit a bulls-eye. Which was often. I couldn’t believe their hand-eye coordination was so off.

I now wonder – was this on purpose? Hmm

Twister – a game not to be played if you haven’t had a shower. Funky bums and all….. Eish, being on vacation, B2 is loathe to shower. We had to beg and cajole – which didn’t work. Eventually blackmail helped. TA told him he was gonna tell B2’s GF that he didn’t shower the whole of the three weeks. That did the trick. Again, I didn’t blow my top at the mention of said GF. I pretended I was deaf.

I baked. A chocolate cake/slab thingie. The boys called it a chocolate roll. It was the tiniest bit flat. Hell, it raised when it was in the oven, you know! I have no cookin’ clue why it deflated like that!

They used words like “lead” and “doodgooiers”, and made a grand show of choking every time they had a piece. They even warned their friends to have juice with it, or else they’d choke. Or it wouldn’t digest. Again, why did I bother? I will maar stick to the Tuisnywerheid, dankie.

I also found out that B2 was seriously in love. At farking 11 years old?!?! That was VERY upsetting. I gave up the vino for the week,  but after seeing those sms’ I cave in and had a glass. Or two. Or three. I forget. This is a serious issue. Will have to chat about this later.

And all of this was interspersed with 30 Seconds, Monopoly and Spin Master. They rock at 30 Seconds, but can’t beat me at SpinMaster. I kept on losing at Monopoly. Probably good that I’m not into property or the financial sector.

Now I need another vacation.
