a collection of Frequently Used Words and Expressions, that probably needs some explaining…a WIP as I forget some of the fun words I use….

Jammer
Afrikaans. A noun, expressing regret – about stuffing up royally, or sorry someone lost their dog

Sannie
Afrikaans or sumthing like that
1) a noun = a boy (e.g. sannie, ek sal jou klap / boy, I’ll slap you)
2) a proper noun = a girl’s name (e.g. Sannie dra ‘n mooi rok / Sannie’s wearing a pretty dress)

“Jammer Sannie” in this context means – a girl who feels really sorry for herself

Des (pronounced “Dez”)
Coloured word, meaning brave (lol)

Starring
Coloured word, referring to the main character in a movie
