… a little bit of this, that and a lot more

Awe, mense. Hope you had a great weekend.

We did NADA. NUFFINK.ZIP.FOKKOL. I didn’t even have nip. Not THAT nip. Firewater. There’s something wrong….

We watched dvd’s. And did some shopping. And I visited an aunt.

Because I can, I will irritate the living crap outta you and tell you what we watched.

Fast & Furious – hands up who enjoyed this movie? *sighs at overwhelming show of hands* You guys disappoint me….

The only thing I enjoyed was watching this tough new chick – Gal Gadot (who names their daughter GAL?). She’s (too skinny) HOT. She was the only interesting character there. Except the cars. With not nearly enough airtime on both!

There wasn’t anything quite as Fast & Furious in this one as the preivous movies? Where the fast cars? Where the furious street races? What a waste.

I was decidedly disappointed in this one. And poor old Vin is soooo old news. Shame man. He’s exceeded his “sell by” date. Time for Channing Tatum to take over here, methinks……….

Step Up 2 – Phew. The dance moves. I need to learn some moves (think Lonely Kitty and I should hook up on this one). I’d love to dance with old Channing. Know what I’m sayin’ *winks*

I can never be your Woman – ag soooooo cuuuuute.

Michelle Pfeifer falls for a younger man (Paul Rudd). But then again, she can pass for a much younger woman too…which means is, they should’ve cast Cher in this role to make it credible. Michelle’s so gorgeous she makes me sick. Predictable but ag, such a sweet movie. And what a coincidence – we just spoke about the cougars and their prey last week, hey? Do you think there was a message in there? Somewhere? No?

Catch and Release – another love story (urgh) on DSTV. She’s engaged, he dies, she finds out he had another woman. And a child. And Timothy helps her get over him.

The only reason I liked this move was because Timothy Oliphant was the starring (when we were younger we always spoke about “die starring”)

Whoo, that scene in the shop. Where she slaps him and then hormones erupt and we have some sizzle. Phew. Made me lam. I wanted to be Jennifer. A very charming and witty movie. Nogals liked it.

PS: I love You – with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler (of 300 fame). About a widow who learns how to cope with her husband’s death. Through letters he’d written for her before he died. Complicated? Go watch it.

I watched this just because of Hilary. (HAH. Gotcha – YOU thought I was gonna say Gerard, neh? Weh). Always loved her as an actress – diverse and talented. And have you noticed how OLD Henry Connick Jr is looking? Shame man, he’s WAAYYYYY past his SBD! He used to be so gorjuss. Age is not nice to every one, neh?

Oh, and Denny was also in there. You know mos – Izzy’s guy from Gray’s Anatomy. She (inadvertently) kills him? Then he returns? For a few weeks. He was “there” for Izzy, you know mos, neh? When Boo saw him, he chirps – “Is hy dan NOU nog nie dood nie?” (isn’t he dead yet?) Wahaaaa. That was funny. O-kay. You had to be there.

Have any of you watched Takeshi’s Castle on Animax? O-My-Goodness. It’s uproariously funny. My stomach was eina after that programme. It’s similar to the “suikerkaskenades” show we had in ZA. Just 100x funnier!! You MUST watch it. It plays Friday nights with repeats on Saturday’s. Hope you didn’t expect much more detail than that.

Boo and I had a terribly loud argument on Friday night. About people who have no sense of time. And responsibility. One of B2’s friends’ dad was late in fetching his son AGAIN (2nd time in a row). I politely told the father off. Boo says I was wrong. And I’m too rigid. I disagreed. Loudly. Sigh. Just as well Takeshi’s Castle was playing….

I visited my aunty on Sunday afternoon. That was sweet. Literally – cakes and quiches galore. Now I have to lose a few more kg’s. Have you ever noticed how you’ve barely left, yet they’re already asking when you’ll be visiting again? The pressure. Once in 6 months is mos genoeg. I’ve got LOTS of Aunties & Unlces. And I have to fit in my Pa as well. Sigh.

Also noticed how decidedly forlorn my wine rack is. There’s a rack but no wine. It’s all been consumed. I need to work OT to fill it up again. The pressure I put on myself……

Ok, this was excruciating. Sorry. Maybe I’ll be better tomorrow.

Have an excellent day now

Thanks for a great list of movies to add to my ‘don’t want to see’ list! That Gal isn’t bad, though…Telling irresponsible people off is always a good idea. Even if it does THEM no good, it makes one feel better.

Your film revues are a lot more entertaining than Barry Ronga’s. Maybe we should petition for a job for you at Radio 702. LOL.
