… a little bit of this, that and a lot more

Hello everyone. Hope you guys had a good weekend and started this week lekker refreshed!

This weekend was a bit of a blegh one. I only recovered from that blooming migraine on Saturday afternoon. And once I’d recouped, I decided to air the dirty laundry.

So Boo and I had it out. I had grand plans of being discreet (i.e. beating about the bush) before getting to the actual question. Something like

Are you still happy?

Do you still think I’m attractive?

Do you think our marriage is stronger now?

Are we honest with each other?

So why the HELL did you not tell me about this SMS?

Tacit, hey?

Anyway, I sommer dove right in. Couldn’t take the pussyfooting any more.

He looked gobsmacked

Boo: What SMS?

Me: That SMS from THAT tart

Boo: Refresh my memory

So I refresh his memory. And check his phone. It’s still there…..
Boo: Oh THAT. She only sms’d to say they got home safe, man, it wasn’t like THAT
Me; EXCUUUUSE Me? (so I repeat in a very sarcastic voice what she wrote)  “Hi, just getting into bed now…XOXO”

Boo: What does XOXO mean?
Me: (ready to klap him) Fuck it! FOCUS PLEASE! Getting into bed….why does she feel the need to tell you she’s getting into bed…

Boo: Well, I didn’t think it strange, maybe she didn’t have time to sms or call, so ….

Me: You are too effing gullible

Boo: AND you have an overactive imagination.

Silence. Maybe I do. Maybe I don’t
Boo: There is nothing there. I gave her my number to call and confirm if they got home OK (her husband was sloshed, she had to drive, and she looked upset).
Me: So why did you never tell me about this?
Boo: Seriously – something stupid like this? Don’t we always do the same with any of your friends visiting. When you are out of it? (note to readers: in case you were wondering, I am not ALWAYS out of it, OK?)
Me: She’s NOT my friend
Boo: (now getting upset) Well, I’m telling you, there’s NOTHING! You can believe what you want to. The only reason why I never told you is because it was a non-issue for me. In any case, I forgot about that sms.

Me: So why didn’t you delete it?
Boo: Jirrie, I’m not going into this again. YOU delete it, coz’ YOU have the issue
I leave the phone alone

Boo: Why were you snooping. Why don’t you trust me? Do I ever hide important stuff from you? I thought we dealt with this shit?….

Which brought on a whole new issue I was so NOT ready for. The attack shifted to me and my shortcomings (me being cold, unforgiving and unapproachable – we won’t go into this now). Which was basically why I was reluctant to confront him in the first place. Sigh
He looked sincere, so I am taking his word for it.

So there you have it. All innocent. I still don’t think she’s all innocent. But she’s not MY problem. YET. If she dares trying anything again….

So, what’s your verdict?

PS: And I told my BFF about her sister’s escapades. She was hopping mad – at me, for not telling her when I found out. And of course at the sister. Whoo, I’m waiting with glee for the outcome of that confrontation…..

Hang in there. It is never a good idea to read what’s on other people’s phones. Spouse or not. Just my point of view.

Whew!! glad you got that off your chest…I’m sure he is being honest…men are quite obtuse in some ways..;) Enjoy your Monday Dizzy…

    He is sooooooo hiding something

I would give him the benefit of the doubt but I would get hold of the female and quietly warn her that if she sends any more sms’s to your man that she had better have good hospital cover.

  5. kevinmatthews said:

What would he save that sms for? It’s not all that “hot”. Trust him, but keep your eyes open, don’t go looking for shit, but keep your eyes open.

Hey Diz,Referring to my comment on this post’s predecessor (and I guess all I have to go on is my own experience…) I got the same story and I believed it as well. I do hope your Hubby is being honest, though.Have a good one 🙂

  7. algoabay said:

Hope he is honest…give him the benefit of the doubt THIS time. Call her and WARN her she will need medical attention should she sms him again. Tell hubby he will need medical attention if he does not tell you should she sms him again. Good luck, this is a bitch situation:-)

Thats kinda what I was expecting. I always try an eliminate the good before jumping to the bad.Worst I will take from this is that this chicky was into your hubby but he didnt have a clue. If he was in on it he would have deleted that sms before he had finished reading it.Smile Dizzy, smile 🙂

ohhhhh… you weren’t kidding when you said you dove right in. I’m sorry, I giggled cos I am the same. Sounds like he is clueless and male and probably didn’t really ‘get’ what she was on about. On the otherhand, there prob was a bit of (harmless) flirting earlier on

Running you down is verbal abuse….put a stop to THAT before anything else!

  11. chantellebeyers said:

    I agree with granny!

  12. priscillaannef said:

Ai Dizzy – I hope it gets sorted soon. This chick is making a play for your Boo and she is getting exactly the kind of reaction she wants. Don’t let her drive a wedge between you.

  13. MissChris said:

Dizzy I still do not understand why she had to sms him? did she not have your number – why not sms you? why not phone rather? why the XOXOXO -Jammer maar………….but I am glad you sorted it out – your significant other also needs to understand how you feel – so in future he won’t forget to tell you or think things like this are unimportant – my 5c worth!

  14. Mahesi said:

It makes sense what your hubby says. I hope it doesn’t happen again. Enjoy your pm Dizzy 🙂

Ditto Granny and sending hugs and luv 🙂 xx

  17. DjinnDeamon said:

Im sorry, I am really one of those doff guys, I would also not have given it an extra thought, if he replied something obscure back, then maybe…but still an sms like that i would have just forgotten about :)Im not taking sides tho (biting nails)

  18. one-eye-only said:

In fairness to him, if he was lying or being deceitful he would have deleted the SMS.I still think that BFF’s sister is a tart who needs a snotklap though.

  19. Killakat said:

I know. I will never do that again. Not even to check who’s sending him so many pls-call-me’s! 😉

  20. Killakat said:

For his sake, I hope so! ;)Er, that’s he’s honest and not really obtuse. What does that say about my taste? 😉

  21. Killakat said:

Oi H, you really think so? WIll be watching him. Like a hawk!

  22. Killakat said:

LOL! Thought of taking her for a ride around the block. Chained to my car! 😉

  23. Killakat said:

  24. Killakat said:

  25. Killakat said:

LOL! You and Sundancer, what’s with the violence? xxx

  26. Killakat said:

Thanks TO, I am smiling now! She’d better watch out….

  27. Killakat said:

LMAO! I know, and I practically rehearsed that schpiel for an hour before! Didn’t help much ;)I made it clear what would happen if I EVER found out something is/was going on. His choice.

  28. Killakat said:

Really Granny? You wouldn’t say that maybe it is a person frustrated with always being attacked for (sometimes) wrong reasons? But you have opened my eyes to another dimension of this relationship 😦

  29. Killakat said:

I’m gonna kick her ASS! ;)She don’t know me well enough yet…

  30. Killakat said:

Then you and I are both cynical people indeed! Nothing to be sorry for! 🙂

  31. Killakat said:

Apparently he thought it prudent to give her his number? In case I didn’t answer my phone? If she had sms’d me….Yah, neh….I have made it clear how it made me feel. If he is clever and cares enough…

  32. Killakat said:

Thanks Hun, it better not, OR ELSE….;)

  33. Killakat said:

LMAO! They can be quite doff, when they chose to, right? I’m ready for BB 😉

  34. Killakat said:

Now I’m worried. Have to look at this relationship seriously!xxx

  35. Killakat said:

LOL! Again…whose side are you on? Thanks for your inputs, though

  36. Killakat said:

That’s what I thought, Simon. And this is what came across, so for my sake and his, I am giving him the benefit of the doubtAnd I’m leaving her sister to sort her out! Whoo, it’s gonna be messy – want a ringside seat? lol

  37. pinkpolkadot said:

I think he is totally innocent!!

  38. DjinnDeamon said:

  43. Killakat said:

You and I seem to be cut from the same cloth (trust)I’ll take his word and see how things unfold. If he is busy, it will come out. Now or laterMwah!!!

  44. BalooZA said:
